Cape Town 10s Beer for a Year Competition


  1. Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully. The Terms and Conditions set out below apply to all participants entering the Cape Town 10s Beer for a Year competition, conducted by The South African Breweries (Proprietary) Limited (“the Promoter”) and is open to all persons of 18 years or older and resident in South Africa, except the employees and their immediate families of Promoters, Promoters’ advertising and promotion agencies, associated companies, and outlet owners and staff.
  2. Only private persons may enter the competition.
  3. Proof of South African citizenship and age may need to be presented by way of either a valid South African identity document or valid driver’s license. Winners may be requested to provide this proof electronically via email. Courier of the prize only extends to participants that live in South Africa.
  4. The Promoter may refuse to award the prizes to participants if there is suspicion of any irregularities or fraudulent activities.
  5. Participation in the Cape Town 10’s beer for a year competition via the Flying Fish app (only) constitutes acceptance of these rules.
  6. The announcement of the winner will take place within 14 working days from the competition closing date.
  7. As part of this competition campaign there will be promoted posts and hashtags that encourage participants to follow the Flying Fish SA media pages.
  8. In order to ensure a valid entry, participants could enter by giving their data to promoters via tablet app, to automatically be entered into the competition to win beer for a year. Positive reinforcement or comments from participants that have already tried the variant may also be eligible to receive the prize.
  9. There is one prize to be won. The prize consists of 12 cases 330ml NRB (24 x 12 = 288 bottles) of Flying Fish.
  10. Delivery of the product will happen every four months over the 12 month period.
  11. A random selection of the winner will be conducted.
  12. The winner will be contacted via telephone. If after 3 attempts have been made to contact the winner with no success, the prize will roll over to the next random name selected.
  13. The beer will be delivered to the winner’s location.
  14. The winner of the prize will be asked to provide the Flying Fish SA representatives to confirm his/her identity, contact details, name and surname, and address.
  15. The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into consideration.
  16. The Prize is not transferrable.
  17. The prize make take up to 8 weeks to get to the winner from date of winner announcement.
  18. All Participants and Winners indemnify the Promoter, its associated companies (directors, officers and employees) and agents, against any / all claims for any loss or damages, whether direct, indirect, consequential or otherwise, arising from any cause whatsoever connected to or arising from their participation in any way in this competition.
  19. By entering this competition, participants authorise the Promoter to collect, store and use (not share) personal information of participants for communication or statistical purposes. Participants are entitled to decline any marketing communication.
  20. The winner or participants may be requested to take part in publicity campaigns for broadcast or publishing purposes. Winners or participants shall at all times be entitled to decline the above request. Winners or participants who take part in any publicity will not be entitled to any payment or other remuneration for such publicity or otherwise. All publicity and other materials will be the sole property of the Promoter. However, the winner has the right to decline an invitation to participate in any promotional activity or to object to these images being used by written notification to the Promoter via social media.
  21. If the Promoters are required by any legislation, the Minister of Trade and Industry, or the National Lotteries to alter any aspect of the competition or to terminate the competition as a result of changes in legislation, the Promoters will have the right to terminate this competition with immediate effect and without notice of such termination. In such event all participants hereby waive any rights which they may have against the Promoters and acknowledge that they will have no recourse or claim of any nature whatsoever against the Promoters, its agents, contractors and/or sponsors
  22. Participants of this promotion are providing information to Flying Fish SA and/or the Promoter.
  23. This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Facebook or Twitter.
  24. Neither Promoter nor its agents or distributors will have any liability in relation to this promotion.
