What’s Fly: February Edition

Everything you loved about the month of love!

The best of February

Hey, would you look at that! March is just around the corner and we’re 100% ready to welcome the month of public holidays Easter and St Patricks Day – tbh, we’re keen for any excuse to go hard on a Thursday.

But before we fast-forward to the third month of the year (WHAT HAPPENED TO JANUARY?!) let’s take a moment to appreciate the fly moments of February.

Riky Rick’s Exodus

I never had a clue, that one day I could rock like Machiavelli too.

If you’ve been anywhere near the Twittersphere, you’d know that Riky went next-level with his short film titled Exodus. Teaming up Kyle Lewis, Rikhado Makhado crams a whole lot of feels in 8.56 minutes.

Riky’s team had this to say about the concept project:

“More than just an epic way to close the curtain of the Family Values run, Exodus celebrates the close relationship between art, music and film.”

This is what the tweeps had to say:

Soaking up the praise, Riky went into caps lock mode:

Mexican food is always a good idea

Mexican food is kinda having a moment rn. From trending spots like the classic San Julian in Cape Town and Taco Zulu in Durbs to this gem, El Pistolero in the 012.

Do you need a national roundup of Mexican food in your hood? Of course, you do! Click here and prepare your taste buds.

After going all in on a Mexican feast, don’t forget to hit the gym with our Ultimate Workout Playlist.

The Life of Pablo

We can’t talk about the month gone by, without mentioning Kanye West.

The Life of Pablo, Kanye’s much-anticipated album, formerly known as Waves, dropped in February and almost everyone has something to say about Yeezy’s seventh studio album.

Ride the wave to Tidal and listen to the full album here.

P.S. Since Kanye announced that he won’t be releasing the album on Apple, Tidal skyrocketed to number one on the global Apple apps chart.

Pssst! Make your own TLOP album cover like we did, here.

Nicki Minaj in Mzansi

Barbz, have you heard? The baddest female rapper in the world is bringing her world tour to South Africa next month!

Get your tickets here and see her in Durbs, Cape Town or Jozi.

How’s this for ballin’? Minaj is the only woman to be featured on Forbes’s Hip Hop Cash Kings list.

Speaking of ballin’, Cassper Nyovest recently dropped this news:

Tell us @FlyingFishSA: when comes to Cassper VS AKA – who gets your support?

Dress like Becks

H&M dropped the full David Beckham collabo collection and we’ve gotta admit that it’s damn wavy.

If you’ve got an extra R400, cop the Harrington jacket pictured above and get ready to dominate winter like you also earn $75-million per year.

Did you know? Beck’s squad just stays winning! David and Victoria’s eldest son Brooklyn got a pretty fly job recently – photographer for Burberry’s latest campaign. Check out the pics below.
